Thirukkural contains teachings, which are immortal and applicable to all ages. It is an agreement on the art of living in this world. The aim of Thirukkural is to teach and guide humanity, lead a moral, ethical and useful life in this world. Thirukkural covers the whole range of human life and touches each and every aspect of daily life alongside with the thinking ability of the human. There are three very important features of Thirukkural are:1. It is worldly in nature 2. It is acceptable by the entire humanity 3. Its eternal messages go beyond time. Thirukkural contains 1330 couplets divided into 3 Parts and 133 Chapters. The first part deals with virtues, the ethics and moral values of Life; the second one discusses wealth, Socio-economic and Political aspects of an individual's life and the third part focuses on love and depicts the intimate relationship between a man and a woman - the love before and after marriage. The philosophies propounded in this poetical work are very much relevant to humanity as a whole, irrespective of language, race, culture, religion, sex, age.
