Liza Ashley has spent thirty years as the cook in the Arkansas Governor's Mansion. In this book, Liza not only lists each governor's favorite recipes, she treats us to an informal recollection of what life was like with them in the mansion.
I thought this was a sweet little cookbook. I enjoyed both Ms. Ashley's memories of the Arkansas governors she cooked for and her recipes. Though not typically edgy or gourmet, all the recipes are tried and true, just like my grandmother (Nannie) used to cook. There are recipes in it that I use over and over and have blogged about. www.afridgefulloffood.typepad.com

I thought the cook book was very good. The recipes I have tried were very tasty. It was very interesting to put a little history with each set of recipes.
