In 1926, Seattle Police Patrolman S. J. Jorgensen was a nationally-known pistol champ and Jiu-Jitsu instructor. In 1938, he published Thirty-Six Secret Knock-Out Blows without the use of Fists which is partially based on the Danzan Ryū style of Ju Jitsu founded by Seishiro Okazaki.
