Vozzek's LOST recaps are amongst the best out there and the wide range of reactions that he provokes from his readers is (almost) as fun as his column. When I found out about the book my thought was if it's half as good as the recaps then it would still be a great read. I found it to be even better than that. The book is a journey into many different ways to digest what we've seen on the show to date. There are many theories about what's happening on the show on so many different levels and Vozzek does a great job in explaining them. While clearly he has his ideas on what's happened (and why) the book is not limited by them. He lays out many different possibilities and gives unbiased views on what they are and why they may or may not be plausible. The book is clearly meant to provoke one's own thoughts about the show and encourages the reader to have their own ideas. My favorite thing about the book are the MANY things brought to my attention that I didn't notice about LOST. Vozzek is obviously someone who has put a lot of time into watching and listening to the show and the reader is the beneficiary of his research. I thought that I had done a good job on picking up on certain 'little' details during the episodes, but this book takes it to the next level. Not only does he point out what you may have missed , but why it could be important. I found these facts to be like puzzle pieces that I was missing and it makes watching (and re-watching) some past episodes even more fun now. Armed with some new facts and ideas about the show I'm really looking forward to the upcoming final season. Having watched every episode at least a couple of times and keeping up with some of the weekly recaps I consider myself to be somewhere in between the 'casual' - 'hardcore' LOST fan. Having read Vozzek's LOST book I'm moving closer to the hardcore side. I would strongly recommend this to ANY fan of the show. Thanks Vozzek and keep up the great work!
The Ulitimate LOST book for viewers who want to think

Like most people who buy this book, I'm an avid LOST fan and usually will watch an episode 3-4 times after it airs just to be sure I don't miss anything. Vozzek cannily eschews the traditional recap format of so many other companion books. Instead he uses his astute observations for the tasty morsels the writers have woven into the show first five seasons and creates plausible senarios for what may happen in the shows final season. His ideas (though some may seem a tad radical) are nothing short of brilliant. He doesn't bludgeon the reader to death with his theories on the show, but instead gently and thoroughly ties little bits of information together and posits ideas that may (or may not) prove to be an indication of where the show is headed. His book really gets the reader to think about things in an entirely new way. I'm so impressed with his eye for detail and his ability to take metaphoric grains of sand and unite them form an entire beach. This book is definitely a keeper. I just ordered a second copy of the book to give to a co-worker who is as addicted to the show as I am. Kudos to Vozzek.
Great book for any level of Lost fan

Just got it yesterday and am already done with it. I think I'm an intermediate viewer, above a novice and below an expert and this book opened my eyes to many different ideas about my fave tv show. I really enjoyed the book and think it's a terrific companion to the series.
Must Have book for LOST fans

I am an avid fan of LOST and have been a regular reader of Vozzek's online postings. I always enjoyed the posts so I was looking forward to reading his book. I received it and quickly read it from start to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I think that anyone who is a fan of LOST will enjoy it as well. Anyone who has read Vozzek's postings will know that he has brought up the idea of a theory of perception in LOST. This theory is both tedious and controversial. I happen to really enjoy it, but I realize there are many that do not. The great thing about the book is that there is only one chapter dedicated to the perception theory. The rest of the chapters are a collection of different theories as to what may or may not be going on in LOST. These theories are wide ranging. Some of them are new, and some of them expand on ideas that fans have had since the beginning. The author supports each of these theories with generous amounts of supporting evidence from the show, and is careful not to give his opinion as to which one he most believes. The best thing about this book is that you come away from it not with someone's opinion of what's happening, but with a better understanding with what YOU think might be happening. If you're a LOST fan, you will be excited by the fact that certain chapters in this book may reinforce theories that you've had about the show. At the same time, other chapters will make you want to pull your hair out and say, "No, they can't actually be doing that!" Everyone who reads this will have their own opinion of what theories are the best and which ones are horrible. The author simply presents the theories in a straightforward way. It's up to us as fans to decide which one(s) of them we like the best. I should also note that, in my opinion, this book doesn't have to be read chronologically. With the exception of the intro and chapter one, it can be read in whatever order you desire. I did choose to read it in order though because once I started I couldn't stop. Overall, I recommend this book highly to any LOST fan. It's the perfect thing to read as we patiently wait for the sixth and final season of LOST to arrive.
