I first read this book because I loved Guitar Highway Rose and Follow the Blue. The beginning was a bit disappointing, and I worried that it could never measure up to the other two books I've come to love. However, from the middle or so on, the novel improved greatly, and by the end I was once again a believer in Brigid Lowry's amazing writing skills. While I still like GHR best, and this one possibly the least of the 3, this is still an amazing book. I'm not sure any book could've measure up to my high expectations, but this one came close. If you liked her other books, you'll probably like this one too. The basic synopsis is a girl, overly concious of her weight, trying to get a job to earn money for a concert. Along the way, Georgia gains and loses many things in her life, and her plans change along the way. A fiesty teenager who often says and does innappropriate things, Georgia is a vivacious and interesting protagonist, creating quite an interesting story. Recommended as a feel-good book for any teenager aprox. ages 13-16
