I am so glad you have picked up a copy of this book
I discovered poetry in my mid-teens; studying English Literature was a revelation and I had the privilege of having my poetry first published as one of the winners of a young writer's poetry competition run by Radio One. It became a life goal to eventually publish a book of poetry penned by my own hands...
As life took over, my dream was put to one side and only resurfaced when I hit the ripe old age of fifty Suddenly, the desire bubbled to the surface again and I realised that it was still a passion of mine - and TIME.
Even though most of these poems were written many years ago, they still have the power to move me deeply. Some give you access to my darker experiences, but I chose to be vulnerable and to include these as part of the picture. I have survived times of deep sadness, confusion and 'lostness', but in learning how great God is in these times, I have become a happy lady, with a bubbly personality and a cheerful disposition. Who knew that I would turn out like this?
My hope is that the words in this book will speak to you, speak for you, make you laugh, and bring you hope - and perspective. For those struggling with daily life, I've been there too. I can tell you - it DOES get better - with God and with time. Life's journey has been meaty, but beautiful, and I'm a better person for the times of struggle and wilderness.
If a poem speaks to you, I'd love to hear about it. Be encouraged and don't give up.
