AFTER THE SHADOWS: A Thin Escape

Warume and Ruaki are two communities with a difference in everything. Warume is a well-developed and modern community while Ruaki is a traditional one and that is against anything to do with urbanization. It takes a natural disaster for the two to be 'in terms'. The only thing they share in common is the King and the Palace.A drought strikes Ruaki and only Warume can come to its rescue and provide water. Gatamu, the Prince from Warume heads the project and out of the blue, he falls in love with Peninah, a Ruaki girl. Both communities are against it. In Ruaki, it was said to be against tradition, abolished and a taboo. In Warume community, the Prince was arranged and bound to marry Silviah, the daughter of Mr. Mamiti, a very influential business man for his father's political interests. These situations leave only one option and possibility to save their love and unite the two communities. As said, some curses can only be cleansed by blood. There was no better blood suited for this than the royal blood hence the prince had to die. He organized his own death with the help of his best friend Dr. Kirimi, who also happened to be their family doctor. The prince was killed. Without an heir to the throne, his father, King Matumu took in Peninah as his daughter-in-law because inside her was the only heir to the throne. She was pregnant after making love to the Prince. This forced the two communities to unity and changed their forsaken believes. After this, the Prince returns and they both decided to live in the village and transform it. He was made Chief and everything changed for the better. Urbanization is accepted and improves the status of the village and its people. His death gave birth to a new beginning and era of peace between Warume and Ruaki.
