In a seemingly random event, an Australian teenager, Rylie Hunter, is kidnapped on the Island of Pearl just off the Australian coast. Nearby, the Hartfield, an Australian Armidale Class Patrol Boat, is tasked to investigate the hijacking of a cargo vessel. The two cases collide on Gabriel Island as the crew of the Hartfield chase down both the pirates responsible for the hijacking and subsequent kidnapping of a teenage girl and her father, and the stolen boy.
Able Seaman Joey Shaffer is confronted by her dark past, and must work to put it behind her in order to rescue Rylie. Her team find themselves in a desperate struggle to stay alive. They must turn to God if they are to complete their mission, which has become far more complex than any of them could have imagined.
