she does it again!!

Melissa Good is a writer par excellence! She brings her characters of Dar and Kerry to life and we can't help but sympathize with them. I hope she continues writing this saga because it gets better with each book. KUDOS!!

Even Better The Second Time Around

I'm willing to bet that every fan of lesbian fiction has at least heard of this classic series by Melissa good. With that said, I won't go into detail about the characters or the story. What I will say is this series deserves its place among the best in lesbian literature and should be enjoyed by everyone. I recently read this series for the second time. Although I first read it several years ago, the characters and storyline seemed like old friends and I enjoyed visiting with them again. Dar and Kerry are obviously based on Xena and Gabrielle. However, Good has given them lives of their own in a modern setting with new adversaries to topple. She has taken them past the bounds of television and allowed them to fully explore the potential of their relationship. Hats off to Melissa Good and the gift she has given this genre.

Intensely emotional

With it's Florida locales, high-tech careers and personal drama this novel has plenty to offer any reader. Add to that a side trip home to see the family and you have a rollercoaster of a story. Plenty of intrigue and office politics and romance keep this novel a page turner. I especially enjoyed the continued character growth of both Dar and Kerry plus those who surround them in their lives. A real feel good story whose popularity continues. Populated with endearing characters that have interesting and diverse lives This is nice quick read ideal for vacation or a weekend or airplane trip. This is a novel in a series that has grown to be 7 novels and is still growing. Don't miss any of the titles in the series - * Tropical Storm * Hurricane Watch * Eye of the Storm, 2nd Edition * Red Sky At Morning * Thicker Than Water * Terrors of the High Seas * Moving Target From the publishers web site - This sequel to Red Sky at Morning is the continuing saga of Dar Roberts and Kerry Stuart. It starts off with Kerry involved in the church group of girls. Kerry is forced to acknowledge her own feelings/experience toward/with her folks as she and Dar assist a teenager from the group who gets jailed because her parents tossed her out onto the streets when they find out she is gay. While trying to help the teenagers adjust to real world situations, Kerry gets the call concerning her father's health. Kerry flies to her family's side as her father dies, putting the family in crisis. Caught up in an international problem, Dar abandons the issue to go to Michigan, determined to support Kerry in the face of grief and hatred. Dar and Kerry face down Kerry's extended family with a little help from their own, and return home, where they decide to leave work and the world behind for a while for some time to themselves.

Much better

I was a little disappointed with "Red Sky at Morning," but this book returned Good to my list of favorite authors. I only had 2 problems with the book.1) The scene where Kerry is talking with her group at he church is found in both "Red Sky..." and this book. It makes more sense in "Thicker Than Water," so it should have been removed from "Sky."2) I think Kyle got off WAY too easy. I would have loved to have seen him get what he deserved.

Another Great Read...

Another great read from Missy Good! The only problem I had with this book was its short length. I'm used to her 300+ page books, with all those wonderful details, and this book came in at approximatley 230 pages.I wish her editor would've done a better job dividing the original on-line work ("Tropical High") so both books would've been of a comparable length ("Red Sky...," the first book, was over 300 pages). I guess I felt a bit cheated in terms of length and money spent (I read the book in one sitting, and that's not normal for a Missy Good story. I like to wallow in them and get lost in the characters, relationships, the conflicts, and the plot). Can't wait until 2005 when the next sequal comes out. I hope that book will be of a longer length like her first four books.
