Thich Minh Tue possesses nothing. He walks barefoot, wears a ragged robe, eats once a day, sleeps anywhere, doesn't have sex, and lives alone. He can do whatever he wants, yet he wants nothing. He desires nothing, yet he has everything he needs. Because he already has everything he needs, he lives in constant fulfillment and happiness. His happiness, therefore, depends on nothing but his will.

Finally, no one knows, and no one can prove, whether Thich Minh Tue has attained enlightenment. However, if Buddhism is a path of liberation from suffering and detachment from all attachments, then Thich Minh Tue appears to embody it. He seems to live a life entirely free of negative emotions: no fear, no anger, no worry, and no suffering. He does not worry about eating three meals a day, owning a house, maintaining a car, paying bills, working, or taking care of others. He has no need for relationships, including family, friends, or relatives. He is not afraid of poverty, aging, illness, or death. He does not seek fame, crave material benefits, or cling to anything. He can go wherever he wants, do whatever he wishes, and even decide freely whether to live or die at any moment. Has such a person attained enlightenment or not?
