They're Fighting a Holy War, and We Won't Talk About It

The radical Islamic jihadists are waging a holy war. This is no new information. Al-Qaeda--as the chief orator, organizer, and executor of attacks against us--has been consistent from September 11, 2001 through today. On September 5, 2006, the Whitehouse posted on their website on a quote from the Al-Qaeda charter which reads, "There will be continuing enmity until everyone believes in Allah. We will not meet the enemy] halfway and there will be no room for dialogue with them."i Through internal correspondence of Al-Qaeda, and public announcements, we will see that at the core of our enemy's motivation lies his radical Islamic beliefs. The question for us today's U.S. Air Force is, are we engaged in a study about our enemy's religious beliefs? "Know Your Enemy" as coined by Sun Tzu is the most basic military concept.
