They Seek us

By T Y Hill

Some roads feel empty.

Others feel like they are watching you.

What begins as a spontaneous road trip with two friends leaving Washington in search of distance, change, and a little escape slowly turns into something else entirely. Stretch by stretch, the familiar rules of travel dissolve. Animals behave wrong. Silence grows heavy. The night lingers where it should not.

And then the road begins to respond.

They Seek Us is a lean, atmospheric horror novella about isolation, attention, and the quiet moment when coincidence becomes pattern. Told in a grounded, intimate voice, it explores the terror of being noticed by something that does not need to announce itself to be understood.

There is no gore and no spectacle. Only the slow realization that once you have been singled out, the world does not quite reset the way it used to.

For readers who love psychological horror, liminal spaces, and stories that linger long after the last page.

Some things do not chase forever.

They only need to know where you are.
