They were young men-some had yet to reach the age of twenty by the time they landed in South Vietnam-some in 1967 and others a few months later in 1968. By most accounts, they were just boys who had been sent to a far off land to fight an unpopular war. They served with distinction and came home hardened from the experience and wondering what the hell had happened to their country.
