Absolutely Wonderful

I have no connection to the author nor to Judson College, but thoroughly enjoyed the book. The writing is amazingly entertaining, as good as any famous author. The story really captures you.

Beautiful

A wonderful love story and that really captures the life she led. As I read the letters, so many Judson and Marion memories came to me.

Great - if you understand the setting

This is a wonderful and compelling book. However, it will not be the most interesting book to people who don't know of Judson College (NOT the recent college in Illinois, but the almost 200 year old college in Marion, AL).

A Charming Courtship

I heard about this book from a friend who knew Kay when she was a student at the LSU Library School in the 1940s. She thought Kay was one of the most interesting people she had ever met. When I saw the size of the book I thought I would have reading material for quiet moments over the next few weeks, but from the very first page I was pulled along by the drama and suspense of the story as it unfolded so I had a hard time putting the book aside and finished it in a few days.Not only is it a charming love story, which keeps you in suspense until the very end, but it is a social history of life in the small college town of Marion, Alabama during the early years of World War II. The letters are intensely personal, and I can understand why Kay wrote that she didn't want Ted to show them to anyone else. I'm glad that he had them published so that the world could get to know Kay and I'd love to get to see the other side of the correspondence.
