A chilling tale!

This would be the perfect book to get into right at Halloween! It will really get you in the mood for things that go bump in the night, complete with talking dolls counting down the days, a spirit that can get in your head, a race to find the truth to save a friend and not become her murderer (again), and a dark past hidden that connects with current events. Plus an awesome ending that was not what I expected but was nicely chilling. I had a lot of fun listening to this audiobook because the narrator, Kristolyn Lloyd, did a great job in bringing Simone and her chilling adventure to appease a spirit called Regret without losing her own life and freedom. I loved the research Simone and Cory did to find the truth about the past, both for Regret, and the missing girls of the present. There are plenty of spooky moments (messages, photos, dolls, and such, I am impressed how savvy Regret is with social media!) but good messages too about regret, trauma and the human psyche, and coming forward with the truth, even if it breaks everything. This was a great audiobook and I am glad I got the chance to listen to it and be spooked and chilled by this haunting tale.
