These Three Remain

THESE THREE REMAIN is a 16-year poetic journey to find what truly matters. Framed around the Apostle Paul's declaration that what remains at the end are faith, hope and love, these poems seek to find the divine outside the guidance of the church. Ultimately irreligious, the poet discovers his spiritual center - and God, too - by cutting out religiosity and paring down to what is both essential and beautiful. The journey is often dark, funny, irreverent, and at times it blurs the lines between the physical and the divine. The poems operate as still-life snapshots of honest emotion and contemplation over 16 years of maturation, taking their forms from subject and mood to highlight where the trinity of faith, hope and love resides - and where it doesn't. Pulling from philosophy and science, history and myth, the cosmic and the everyday, THESE THREE REMAIN searches out where these lines of thought intersect and can live in harmony. The conclusion is a decidedly romantic religion the poet forms for himself.
