All of us have a story to tell. Some of us decided to become carpenters, farmers, or make music as musicians. Some of us decided to become teachers, nurses, doctors, or soldiers, and a few of us became writers. Across our diverse neighborhoods, and communities all of us serve in one capacity or another. All of us make our mark as we go about our lives, but as we live, and breathe, a pervasive killer stalks our families, and communities. All of us work together to create a diverse tapestry of life, across our modern society, and while we busy ourselves to create a diverse, complex society this killer does not discriminate Suicide kills carpenter, farmers, and musicians. It claims the lives of teachers, nurses, and soldiers daily.

It kills our young, and life-experienced seniors. It also kills the random face of the stranger who stood in front of you at a checkout line as you waited for your coffee yesterday, and it's killed some of our favorite celebrities. Faces we associated with success, and happiness.

I'm a writer, and I hope my story serves as an intervention. Suicide is 100% preventable.
