There's a Dragon Working at the Gas Station

By Derek Moody

The night shift was supposed to be boring. Then the new girl breathed fire on a frozen burrito.

Eli Carter has spent nearly two years working overnight at Lucky Stop, a gas station where strange customers and questionable decisions are part of the job. Nothing surprises him anymore.

Until Rhea Ash gets hired.

She's hardworking, unusually strong, painfully honest, and completely unfamiliar with how normal people behave. She also happens to be a dragon.

Rhea isn't interested in terrorizing villages or stealing treasure. She's trying to live an ordinary human life, earn her own money, and learn what it means to own something without taking it.

Unfortunately, ordinary life becomes complicated when something ancient awakens beneath the gas station.

A mysterious underground hoard, a family of powerful dragons, and a dangerous rival threaten everything Rhea has started building. As Eli gets pulled deeper into her supernatural world, he discovers that some treasures are worth far more than gold.

And somewhere between midnight coffee runs, ridiculous customers, magical disasters, and near-death experiences, an unlikely relationship begins to grow.

There's a Dragon Working at the Gas Station is a humorous contemporary fantasy adventure filled with supernatural mystery, quirky characters, workplace comedy, and a touch of slow-burn romance.

Sometimes the strangest place to find a dragon is behind the register.

And sometimes the greatest treasure is finding somewhere you belong.
