It's a kid's worst nightmare to end up an orphan. With no one to turn to. The two people you ever knew and trusted are no longer walking the earth. Growing up in a middle class home with a loving mother and an alcoholic father who resorts to abuse when he's drunk. Jacqueline's life is turned upside down when a CPS worker shows up at her school with some bad news. Waking up one day and not knowing that you are going to be an orphan is the worst experience ever. Even after being abused occasionally by her father, she still loved him and never wanted him to die. She didn't think things would ever get better until she meets Trevor, a fellow orphan who befriends her. He gives her hope but that is all taken away when he has to leave abruptly. The two come back together in what she considers a miraculous way. An she believes that there is still hope after all.
