Family is very important to Patrick Brady, and the holidays are the best time to enjoy their company. Usually. This year, Thanksgiving with his girlfriend Angela's parents is cut short by a vicious argument between her parents. Two weeks later, her mother is shot outside their home and Angela's father is the prime suspect. Angela begs Patrick to look into the attack and prove her father's innocence. He agrees but, before long, his investigation begins to uncover other family secrets - drug use, connections with the mob, infidelity, and even a dark chapter from Angela's own past.
