Good book, and here are some other recommendations...

This is a pretty good book, and there are some good ideas presented. I am devoted to Mr. Howards teachings and while this is a good book, it's not his best. These books get to the point quicker: The Mystic Path to Cosmic Power The Power of Your Supermind Esoteric Mind Power Secrets for Higher Success Still, if you like these books, I would go ahead and read "There is a Way Out". The thing I like about reading different VH books is that he may say the same thing, but in a different way.

There Is a Way Out

I was fortunate to attend Vernon Howard's classes in the 1980s in Boulder City, Nevada. This man is the only man I have ever known who is truly awake. Meeting him was the most important meeting in my life. Someone gave me a copy of his book, Mystic Path to Cosmic Power in the early 80s and I was so impressed by it that I contacted his school in order to secure copies of his other works. After reading them, I had to go to his school to see for myself if there existed a person who embodied his teachings. I was not disappointed. I was overwhelmingly delighted with the person he was. Being in the presence of an awakened person is unlike any other experience. I felt a power radiating from him that reached into the deepest corners of my mind and began the extremely difficult task of sweeping it clean. I made as many trips to Boulder City as I could afford both while he was living and even after his death. The group of people who continue to make his work available are filled with light and are continuing to spread his message. His message is simple: Wake up. His methods consist of showing the reader all of the ins and outs of the divided mind's sneaky tricks to keep us asleep spiritually. This book, especially in conjunction with his others like Mystic Path To Cosmic Power and The Power of Your Supermind, will help you confront yourself, see through your blockages, and set yourself free. This man can say a lot in just a few words

This book is a series of stand-alone paragraphs that either contain snippets of conversation with a teacher and a student or they contain very short parables. Each can send you off into minutes of thoughtfull consideration. Many are trying to make similar points, but the meaning is so deep, that it is very usefull to have the addional viewpoints. This is a book that would be good to own because new understandings will be gained each time it is read.
