This book is the result of my Sabbatical journey to help myself and my congregation not settle for living less than the full Christian life. This full life is lived in three dimensions: upward toward God, inward in Christian community and outward in world transformation. The book is based on my exploration of three movements in church history in which individuals and communities were set on fire by God to live fully in all three dimensions. The book explores the Moravian movement beginning in 18th Century Germany, the Haugean movement in 19th Century Norway, and the Jesus People movement in 20th Century United States as well as a section on St. Olav and the beginnings of Christianity in Norway. The book is built on the theme of "journeys" and how the journeys of these groups and individuals can help inform our Christian journeys today. I have shared how these journeys have impacted me, and invite the reader to see how them might inform them in their journey of faith. The result of my journey has been that I have discovered the life of faith I have been living does not fit the fullness of God's purposes for my life. After my journey, I do not want to go back to where I was before the journey. I want to go forward to a life beyond where I have been. The reader is invited to allow this book to help them not go back to where they have been, but be drawn beyond as well.
