I been looking forward to reading this book. I remember reading this book years ago and I enjoy reading it very much. I enjoy reading this series Baby on the Way. I love the characters and their story they are telling me too.

Their Pregnancy Bombshell by Barbara McMahon Harlequin Romance # 3847 - June 2005 Babies on the Way duet Sara's just waved goodbye to her 19 year-old daughter and her new son-in-law as they set off on their honeymoon. At 38, Sara's looking forward to her freedom and some spice in her life. Running into devilishly handsome Matt right in the hotel casino, Sara's life starts that new adventure. They spend three wonderful days together, then Sara must return home to her job. But before Matt can get her phone number, he's called away himself on a business emergency. Sara's disappointed but accepts that she won't ever see Matt again. A week after her return home, Matt shows up with an engagement ring! Sara's eager to jump right in. Spending time with Matt, traveling with him as he does for his business, is a dream come true. But the road gets rocky when Sara comes up pregnant and Matt realizes his footloose and fancy-free life is coming to an end. This is a linked book to Pregnant: Father Needed that I read last month. Sara is Amber's mother in the other book. I really enjoyed reading Sara's story. Her anxiety with being newly married to a man she barely knows, and then an unplanned pregnancy, all are real fears. Matt's not sure how he feels about a baby; fatherhood is something he'd never seen for himself. Suddenly in a span of a few months, his whole life has changed. Ms. McMahon reaches in and pulls out these wonderful stories about real dreams and how life throws curves. Wonderfully written!

Pleasant Surprise

I really enjoyed this book, I sort of grabbed blindly from the romance rack at the library, none of the titles having grabbed my attention. This is a story that is different in several ways from most of the Harlequins I have read. Firstly Sara is several (it doesn't say exactly how many) years older than Matt, her eventual husband. The book begins with her daughter driving off to her honeymoon. Sara has a few days to spare before she has to work again and winds up spending them with a total stranger that she instantly clicks with, Matt. And while I can't say it isn't sexual, at this point I am really impressed with the author's ability to attempt and build an authentic relationship between the two of them. One that has to stand the trials of their imprompteu marriage that covers the other half of the book. Ultimately Sara is the better drawn of the two characters but Matt isn't entirely a cookie cutter, and the supporting characters are great, there is a real sense of community in this book. I will have to hunt down the second book about Amber, Sara's daughter, and hopefully more about Matt and Sara is in that one.

EXCELLENT - DEFINITELY A KEEPER #1

Sara Simpson just married off her nineteen year old daughter, Amber. Sara is 38 and ready for some fun. Like traveling and seeing places she has just dreamed about. Matt Tucker is a sexy guy who does just that. He travels and troubleshoots for his computer company. Opps! but he is just in his early thirties not that that should matter. There is a realitively fast courtship. Matt does not want to lose track of Sara. Marriage should be simple as Sara has raised her family. Sara still wants to hang onto her job security, at least during the tax season. Now they begin to run into a bit of trouble. Yet they are willing to compromise, then comes the bombshell of a baby on the way. Sara spends a bit of time with Amber, as her husband is in the Military and not home much of the time. Confusion and mix-ups lead to a really good story of human relationships and emotions. I guess their preventative measures did not work - baby is on the way. Then Sara has to be on hand for her daughter, Amber and then Matt shows his true colors. What a great family. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - #1 -- NOW onto Amber's story in Pregnant: Father Needed.
