Their Eyes of the Living Rainbow
The story opens with a gentle remembrance of a time before hurry and worry, when the Forest Elders, the Sasquatch Peoples understood emotions as natural movements- like colors that come, glow, and pass.
Their Eyes of the Living Rainbow: Emotional Depth of Color is a gentle children's story that helps young readers understand emotions through nature, imagination, and quiet reflection.
The story follows Avanah, a curious child who meets a kind Forest Guardian and is guided through a peaceful forest realm where feelings are understood as natural movements of the heart. Through calm conversations, animal companions, and moments between waking and dreaming, Avanah learns that emotions are neither good nor bad, but meaningful and temporary- meant to be felt, understood, and allowed to move. As the Forest Guardian's eyes subtly change color, Avanah comes to understand emotions as living light, meant to move through, not be held inside.
With soothing language and rich natural imagery, this book supports emotional literacy, self-awareness, and a sense of safety and belonging. The narrative story concludes on page 45 with a calming benediction for young readers.
The final pages include author reflections and background on the inspiration behind the story, offering additional context for caregivers, educators, and families.
Written for children and the adults who read with them, Their Eyes of the Living Rainbow: Emotional Depth of Color is well suited for bedtime reading, quiet moments, and conversations about feelings.
