A stocking stuffer for your mountaineer

The book is divided into five sections, such as why we climb, where we climb, ups and downs, risk among the rocks, and life at the top. I have been reading it again and again.

A thoughtful and inspiring book for the climber or outdoor enthusiast. Ed Viestrus writes the introduction. Thoughts on big mountains from John Muir, George Mallory, Ansel Adams, Tensing Norgay and Sir Edmond Hillary. Contemporary climbers add insights on risk and reward. Shakespeare, Thoreau, Twain, Bob Dylan and Dr. Suess create an eclectic mix. The illustrations, by Kate Quinby, are like a flip book; they add to the fun and tell a story. A thoughful and fun gift for under $15.00. Would make a great stocking stuffer!
