Eloise is nine minutes younger than her twin sister, Grace. Rocco is eight when the twins turn ten and Natalie is five. The identical twins become junior detectives with the help of Uncle Dan and Granny. In this first book about their adventures they are able to solve a mystery about a broken window, find a lost cat, and successfully locate a missing purse. They don't own a pet, but they often play with the dog who lives across the street from Granny. Axl is a young Golden Retriever and the children love to toss a ball around with him. When Axl vanishes, they take the case at once. With the help of their younger siblings, they spend many hours trying to find Axl as Uncle Dan advises them on their new cell phones and Granny backs them up when things get a bit dangerous.
