Factual. Realistic. Fast Reading. Family Friendly. A Civil War Buff's Must Read. The Young Writers Series (By the Grace of God) (Young Writers) Our whole family has just read the book, By the Grace of God,written by Hannah Reeves of the Young Writer's Series. It was very touching to read about and consider a family's life and conflicts during the Civil War. The book had some very touching spots. Understanding that the story line followed actual battles and results during the war gave the book credence to our older readers. Our younger children were able to enjoy the book because it is written in a "story" style, easy to read and understand for young readers.
