The Young Fisherman's Foolish Errand

And so here is the story of Gabriel, a fisherman in a small village who is pleasant and friendly. It is such qualities that drive him to help a merchant get unstuck from the mud. As a reward, the merchant takes Gabriel to Anhiry, a bustling renaissance-like city filled with nervous guards, friendly women, and a temple dedicated to a demon. With all these sights, Gabriel expects an adventure, and gets nothing of the sort. Disappointed with his visit to Anhiry, Gabriel heads home, only to be robbed outside of his village. With the prodding of his fellow fishermen, he determines to follow the thief back to Anhiry to retake his gold. But in his attempts to find the thief, Gabriel will cross the wrong people, be thrown in jail, meet a young woman equally bored with her lot in life, and even be forced to confront the ruler of the temple of the demon. With all these things to counter his efforts, has Gabriel gotten himself into more than he can handle, or is he finally starting down the road to the eventful life he always dreamed of?
