Warm and Funny

The Wrong Overcoat is a warm and funny book, not an 'in your face' slapstick book like too many children's picture books these days. Just for once, here is a picture book that conveys feeling through the expressions of the characters. You empathise with Chimp, the central character, because your Mom made you wear ill fitting clothes when you were a kid. When chimp gets home from an abysmal bowling session, (you can't bowl when your sleeves are too tight) he just wants to go upstairs to bed - but his Mom tells him to wait because Granny is coming over to see his new coat. The look on his poor little face is hysterical. This is real situation comedy for the under 10s.
