Tasty Tripe

When George Orwell reviewed a book that he hated, he quickly dismissed it a tripe. This is not Charles Dickens, but it deserves recongnition for what it was intended to do...witness to a young demographic. Well prepared tripe! This is Part 1. The story is about eight friends who go through a variety of romances and adventures involving English racism from the National Front, abortion, two assaults and one medical emergency all laced with a network of romance. The characters are sterotypical and the dialog is corny at times, but this would not affect the typical fifteen year old girl. After the first encounter with National Front members in a working class pub, one of the male characters, a newly saved former thug is confronted by the owner... "thanks for turning my public bar into a Swedish match stick factory"...p.82 In another dialog to a depressed young woman we are treated to... "...there was a sound of a blackbird in the tree outside their window...can you hear that sound? That bird is singing for you, to say that there is a brand new day begining just for you..."p.87 A blackbird? Why not an escaped canary? A blackbird is more like Edgar Allen Poe. Two thoughts for this book: Translate to Spanish and make it into a serial novella in Latin America. Teen soap operas and romance pulps are king there. Translate to French and make a radio serial romance for Central African countries, but make the oppressed Jew a Muslim for obvious reasons. In Africa, radio is king. The holder of the copywrite is Operation Mobilization (OM) which does important Christian microcredit work and witnessing in the Third World. These translation ideas are up their alley. Tripe isn't always bad if it prepared well. Pathway to the stars
