The Wood Pea is a delightful tale about a very small and gentle elfin creature named Peppo who lives harmoniously with the flora and fauna of the great and ancient forest. Peppo has a few very close friends. The wise old Owl, the uncooperative Toad, and Mole who tries his best to do the right thing. The story begins with a description of the ancient forest and how a single thing in the forest benefits the rest. In a very quiet way, the description of the forest tells of the importance of each entity and its effect on others. For example, when a rotting tree dies it still has importance to the forest creatures and other plants. The cavity of the hollow trunk is used for a safe, secret sleeping den for mother fox and her babies, a place for mushrooms to grow, and even food for tiny bugs.
A tale of friendship kindness for the young at heart; The Wood Pea is sure to please.
