Vera Patricia Bola os Santos is a guatemalan writer. Her surrealist style blends reality with the wonderful Mayan world. She has written nine books, essays, stories and poetry. She studied the Mayan worldview and is the author of readings, stories, poetry, comics and theater for primary and secondary school. She collaborated with the program Kemon Ch'ab' l, of effective literacy with values focus of Prodessa, Santiago Institute, Educational Association "La Salle". The books were published in Mayan languages. Her story "The Mayan World" was chosen for the publicity pamphlet of these works.Grandfather, Rafael (1886-1970), worked at the Cervecer a Centroamericana, S.A. during the period of 1922-1952. The idea of this story was born when, as a child, she heard her father tell her: "Your grandfather brought beer to Quetzaltenango for the first time."
