Suspend all rational thinking

I LOVE short stories and I really love short stories that, in a matter of 5 or 6 pages, can paint for me a character that is exceptional in some way. Whether or not that character acts in an accepted mode of conduct is of no bother to me. In fact, a story that walks a very fine line between reality and fantasy is even better. This book is astounding, well written, and every story is written with tongue firmly in cheek. I cannot recommend it enough, but only if you have an open mind; one that is so open it lets just anything fly in.

You won't be able to put it down.

Each short story is a wonderful work of imagination and creativity. The reader is taken into the lives of very bazaar individuals afflicted with such things as teeth on their body, bodyparts falling off, or those inanormed with the tree outside the bedroom window. Very fun to read if you are in the mood for something out of the ordinary.

Sick, Twisted and AMAZING

Never have i read such a collection of short stories! Julia Slavin is an absolute genious when it comes to mixing extremely unsettling situations with intense dark humor. I can't get enough of this book! Buy it now, read it often.

Best, most original short fiction collection of the year

Slavin is the best, most bizarre, most fascinating short fiction writer I've read in a while. "Dentaphilia" gave me nightmares for weeks. Buy this book.
