Expect the Unexpected

I always wholeheartedly purchase Nicholas Sparks's books, knowing that they will be good, no matter what they are about. When I started reading this one though, I discovered that he chose two topics that I don't like to read about: cancer and pregnancy. One I had and the other I didn't. Well, I read it anyway with deep flashbacks between the two topics. Towards the middle, I still wasn't hooked. Then all of a sudden, I finally got his message. The pieces of the puzzle finally gelled. Turns out, this is probably Sparks's best written book ever! You'll need a box of tissues for this one as the story advances. Couldn't put it down once I got about 2/3 through it. Magnificent storyteller!

Tied for #1 with The Last Song

Could not put this book down. Sometimes I feel asleep while reading and would wake up with book on my chest. Absolutely touching and beautiful story. Nicholas Sparks knows how to touch the heart.

Always love reading Nicholas Sparks

What a good story! Kept me so interested didn’t want to put the book down. A real and believable story about a pregnant teenager. I didn’t like the relationship between the teenager and her parents. But the ending was a tear jerker for me.

Omg! Sparks books are exactly what you don’t want to happen. While you’re reading, snot, tears, and shaking my head and yelling noooooooo. But it’s the raw truth. Love every part of this book! Such a great read

The Wish: Predictably Cheesy

To be fair, this was my first Sparks book. I truly do enjoy romance and after hearing so many good things decided to give this a go. I did not enjoy it. The story line was extremely cheesy, but unlike other romance novels I did not enjoy the cheese. The woman has done so many incredibly amazing things, however in her dying days focusing solely on a few months of her teenage years as her most defining moments of life really let me down. Beyond that, the entire premise of the romance seemed unbelievable from the start. The only thing saving this book from a 1 star rating was the tail end, however that was very rushed. Unfortunately would not recommend.
