It insists that innocence can be guarded rather than hardened, that a clean heart can keep a locked door, that discernment and trust are not enemies but partners, and that the gentlest among us do not have to disappear in order to endure. It is written for anyone who has ever been called too sensitive, too trusting, or too kind, and suspected, quietly, that this was not the whole truth about them.
The innocent person does not have to vanish in order to survive. They have to become the guardian of their own light.
