In the winter of 1935, nine-year-old Clara Aubert lives in the isolated mountain village of Eichenwald, Germany, where she is too strange and solitary to fit in with other children. Their bond becomes a test of how far love and belief can bend reality, and whether magic can survive in a world that has forgotten how to see it.
