The Blood Curse-hunger, madness, Final Death. As countless vampires perish in torment, the survivors jockey ruthlessly for any advantage. Owain Evans, Ventrue elder and Sabbat spy, is drawn more deeply into deadly plots as figures from his past emerge to call due forgotten promises from centuries gone by. And that may be the least of his worries.... Disturbing visions haunt Owain night and day. Is he touched by the Curse, or something far more sinister? This second volume of the Trilogy of the Blood Curse follows The Devil's Advocate and interweaves characters and action with the Vampire: The Dark Ages saga Grails Covenant Trilogy.
The first book in the Blood Curse Trilogy was a little slow and boring. The second novel picks up the pace a bit and becomes much more interesting. Owain returns to his old stomping ground in Spain, and to his long time friend, a Toreador Antitribu named El Greco. Things have changed however over the years and Owain becomes enmeshed in a political chess match with El Greco's rival. The Gangrel Nickolas continues his hunt for Owain as well and tracks him to Spain. Some very interesting plot twists keep you on your toes and make the whole story worth reading. The various plot ties going on throughout the first and second novels begin to come together. I am curious now about reading the Grails Covenant trilogy which occurs prior to this trilogy.
Great book

The Winnowing is one of Gherbod's best ever. Taking place right after the end of the first novel it winds countless characters into one plot. You never know what is going to happen next. A must read for all fans of vampire fiction.
