Onshore wind farms are always controversial. Strong emotions come to the fore as soon as there is talk of demolishing untouched nature with a large number of three hundred meter high windmills.
The sheriff, Toralf Mo, is afraid that the strong contradictions will emerge when a large wind farm breaks down on Snaufjellet above the tree line not too far from the Swedish border.
The sheriff's district embraces an enormous area that stretches from a small community high to the north all the way to the Swedish border. He is without resources. The sheriff's office is threatened with closure due to demands for centralization and cuts in the annual budgets. Despite opposition from all sides, the sheriff miraculously manages to keep up his motivation in his attempt to get to the bottom of the cause of the accident. He brings that out on a journey of unimaginable consequences.
