The Wildwood's Oath
The forest is bleeding. The old stories say only one man can save it. But the stories have been wrong before.
For three years, scholar and bard Rhiannon ferch Owain has lived at the edge of Broc liande, studying its forgotten songs, ancient prophecies, and half-erased histories. Then the elderwoods begin to bleed red sap, animals abandon familiar paths, and an unnatural silence spreads beneath the trees.
The oldest texts offer one answer: find the Feral Guardian.
Rhiannon expects a legendary protector. Instead, she finds Cadell Gwyllt-a wary, feral man who has spent twenty-five years guarding the Wildwood alone and has little patience for scholars, prophecies, or the people who wrote them. Cadell knows the forest is dying, but he also knows something Rhiannon's books do not: every bargain with Broc liande carries a price.
As the blight spreads from ancient groves into neighboring villages, Rhiannon discovers an unexpected power in her own songs-and evidence that the sacred covenant binding Cadell to the forest has been corrupted for generations. The Wildwood's Oath was never meant to demand one guardian's destruction.
But uncovering the truth means admitting the truth she kept from Cadell.
With the Shadow closing around the heart of Broc liande, scholar and guardian must decide whether trust can survive betrayal-and whether an oath built on sacrifice can be reforged into something neither the forest nor its keepers have known for centuries.
Ancient magic. Forgotten lore. A dying enchanted forest. A fiercely independent scholar and the isolated guardian who has forgotten how not to stand alone.
The Wildwood's Oath is an atmospheric adult folkloric fantasy about corrupted traditions, the cost of duty, the power of choice, and the bonds created when survival no longer has to mean sacrifice.
