Favorite fairy tale

I love Susan Jeffers' illustrations, and this is probably my favorite fairy tale. I don't know why there aren't more adaptations of this tale made; it's woefully underappreciated. I had a copy of this book as a kid and I look forward to seeing the beautiful art again.

love this story!

the book came with some minor damage, crayon smudges here and there, some scribbling in pencil. this would have bothered me, except that I recognized the scribbling as my mother's handwriting. I had this book as a kid and lost it, and I'm pretty sure I've been reunited with the exact copy that was mine! Love this story, and the gorgeous illustrations
