Is it right to marry for money?

"The Wicked Corinthian" by Eileen Jackson 1990 Emma Kendrick's father had died leaving a ton of debts. While they were paying off some of them, others were demanding payment immediately. Her mother was the guardian of the heir, her eldest son and thus she was the one to go to debtor's prison. What were they to do? Her younger sister, Charmian was a beauty. If she had a season in London, it was a given she would find a wealthy husband even without a dowry. After everyone in the family pooled their money, they were ready to set their plan in motion, but right after they started for London, they came upon an accident of an overturned stage which was caused by some wild corinthian taking over the reins of the stage coach. They had to spend some of their precious fund to stay overnight at an inferior inn. So when Emma went out to the stables late that night (with only her cloak over her nightgown) because she was worried about her elderly coachman, she ran into the man who had caused her and her family and many others injury and a lot of expense and trouble. Thinking she was a maid, a servant, he flirted with her and she found herself caught up in his arms and kissed by him. She wasn't going to speak at first but her temper got the best of her and she told him what she thought of him acting so reckless to endanger others. He realized his mistake because her speech was that of a Lady not a servant. At their first ball, she met up with him, the notorious Earl of Somerville. Somerville started to show favoritism to Charmian and her mother was in alt because Somerville was handsome and wealthy. Emma started to rethink what she and her family were doing. Was it right to sell Charmin in marriage with this Earl of Infamy? Is he the answer to their prayers or is it the beginning of nightmare for Emma as she believed she is coming under his spell. Another good story from Eileen Jackson. Happy Reading!
