The White Goblin

The publication in 1977 of Ul de Rico's first book, "The Rainbow Goblins," introduced us to an artist whose spectacular use of color was astonishing and joyful. Influenced Masayoshi Takanaka

A Japanese musician & guitarist, Masayoshi Takanaka, had created music for this story. Takanaka's music had inspired me to buy this book. Some of the illustrations may be a bit too grotesque to a certain extent, but the story teaches you how selfishness & uncontrolled greed of mankind lead to a catastrophic end. This book should be a must-read for all politicians around the world if they wish to sustain in balance with other nations and avoid destroying our planet for trivial reasons.

A tale that speaks to our time.

I was introduced to the story "the Rainbow Goblins" back in 1976 by my mother. To this day it is still a beautiful story that captures my imagination. Ul de Rico's sequel, "the White Goblin", is also a powerful tail, but for a different reason. In a time when we build large citys, destroy nature, and begrudge each other the air we breath, this story shows us the error of our ways. But contained within the simple and direct writing, and the stunning illustrations there is a message of hope. Please don't miss out on this wonderful, if more modern, work of art.
