Anton is madly in love with Kasia, but their love is doomed because she is Jewish and soon to be deported to Auschwitz. There he will meet really bad people, but also good people who will give her hope. When he dreams that a camp-grown white daffodil will end the war, Captain Franz Wunsch, one of the camp's good men, will do anything to make his dream come true. Meanwhile, back in Bratislava, Anton takes revenge on the horrible man who deported Kasia out of jealousy.
