The Weight of Choices

By Scottie Fraser

The Weight of Choices of Choices, Some Truths are too dangerous to Tell

A RECENT COLLEGE GRADUATE, newly hired as an investigative reporter for an Orlando newspaper, is urged by her grandfather to probe the suspicious death of a US Supreme Court justice. The justice died during a clandestine gathering of influential figures at an exclusive resort, yet local authorities swiftly declared the cause "natural," ordered no autopsy, and quietly closed the case.

As she pursues the truth, she is forced to confront a series of difficult choices - each one pulling her deeper into a world where powerful forces will go to life-threatening lengths to keep the truth buried.

Her investigation also uncovers literal drug activity woven into the events surrounding the justice's death, prompting a broader conversation about the difficult choices facing a society struggling to better manage the distribution and use of illegal drugs.
