"When I came back into the house my heart broke when I saw how my brother Tony struggled to cut the black electrical tape off of his hands. Dad had just left him there in his bedroom with his hands tied, and he was crying. I made sure he didn't see me. The tape had been used to hold Tony down as he was beaten with a very thick white electrical cable. My dad was a licensed electrician, and when we became older children he chose to use a cable for a strap - the type of cable that you would see in the ceiling of an unfinished basement. He had used the electrical cable on me as well. However he would only hit me once with it - and once was quite enough. A cable beating was very painful.
