The Ways of God: As seen through the Eyes of a Conservative Restorationist

In order to truly know God as He is, we must first come to know His heart and ways as revealed to us in the Scriptures. In AD. 313 the Roman Emperor Constantine declared Christianity the state religion, and as a result, by the 5th century the Church had become a secularized arm of the state which had lost sight of God's heart and ways, sinking into what we now know as the Dark Ages. With the Reformation in the 16th century the Church began to rediscover some aspects of God's heart and ways, such as the truth of justification by grace through faith, but they still retained some of the dark unbiblical dogmas particular to the Dark Ages. Consequently, the Church today has yet to fully know and represent God's heart and ways as revealed in the Scriptures. This misrepresentation of God's heart and ways has given rise to the movement known as the New Atheism which in many ways is not so much a revolt against God as revealed in the Bible, as it is a rejection of Christendom's caricature of Him. Progressive theologians, apparently concerned about the great exodus from Christianity to New Atheism, have sought to nuance the Scriptures in such a manner as to make God seem compatible with today's worldview. The objective in writing THE WAYS OF GOD is to demonstrate that all God's acts as recorded in the Bible are seen to be loving, just and wise once we understand God's heart and ways as revealed to us within the pages of Scripture. Once we understand the heart of God and His all-encompassing plan for the ages which culminates in the final restoration of all, rather than eternal misery for the majority, the infallible, inspired Word of God ceases to be seen as problematic - becoming to us a divine masterpiece from beginning to end.
