The Way of the Modern Warrior: The Bushido Code of the Modern Era

The subject of this book is the Bushido Code, but it is not an exhaustive historical book on the subject matter rather it serves a guide on how to use the code in our daily lives, because since we live in the modern era, what better way than to tie it to our everyday experiences and routines.

The Foreword is by Professor Gary Lee, Founder of the Sport Karate Museum
The Epilogue is by Grandmaster Gary Wasniewski, Founder of TYGA Martial Arts International

This book will touch upon the meaning and will go into certain aspects of the samurai's life to give context, but the book always stays on point to make sure that the reader can understand how to properly have and display each virtue.

The same can be said regarding the martial arts examples in this book, this is not a martial arts book but rather a lifestyle book that stems from martial arts. The reader does not have to have studied martial arts to understand it but rather it allows me the author to give the audience insight into what I am saying and why it is important.

The book came to be because of my time in martial arts and was born out of my extensive conversations with my most trusted mentors live by the 7 virtues of Bushido. Ever since I met them, they have been drilled into me by him with our extensive conversations of what they mean and why they are important, especially in martial arts.

My passion for the Bushido Code stems from the kung fu training I received from Sigung Dexter Parker of the Trinity Training Center with his 10 titans that he taught me and others when they start learning from him. I found that was one of the most important parts my training was learning them and thus the 7 virtues of the Bushido Code are equally important to me because they exist in all styles regardless of what they are ultimately called.

A version of them was presented to me when I was studying Taekwondo from Master Rodney Crow from Canton Martial Arts. See the virtues transcend style and origin of country regarding the style because they are the foundation of any traditional and real martial art in my opinion and something that society needs to read and understand despite the issues that plague us because at the end of the day the virtues are good to live by, especially if you are a believer in God as I am.

Sincerely,

Kyle Green
