Respect for the Spirituality of the Child

This resouce is an amazing tool for enabling and encouraging the child's spiritual formation, allowing them experiences to grow in their sense and understanding of who God is and who they are in relationship to God and God's world. I am using this resource with 1st - 5th graders in our mid-week program. The church I serve as Director of Christian Education has a great respect for deep spiritual/faith formation of everyone and this is the perfect tool. The children are better able to focus on what they are experiencing in the moment and leave with a sense of internal peacefulness they did not have with the program we were using previously. The pace is slow and reflective. The most wiggly children actually spend the most time in the quietest, most reflective stations! The children are excited to come each week and invite their friends. I hear groans of disappointment when it is time to prepare to leave. The Way of the Child is helping to develop a lifelong understanding and practice of deep quiet time with God for the purpose of just being with God and listening for what God might have to say to you. Thank you Wynn McGregor and Upper Rooms for your tremendous insight and understanding of the Spiritual potential of the child and doing something about it! Thank you for the accompanying Family Guide that helps parents understand their child's spiritual potential, as well. I want more!!
