Waverly Nelson, an unstable scientist bent on revenge, has been broadcasting covert Adrays into the minds of two opposing New American societies--one, an all-female thelytoky, and the other a traditional patriarchy--in order to destroy Rev. Marshall Danforth, the man who deemed Waverly an unfit mother 18 years ago.

When Waverly learns that her most trusted employee might be pregnant with a boy, and that the resulting scandal could potentially expose her plans, Waverly sets loose a special Adrays program to teach all women still interested in men a lesson.

Meanwhile, Kat Buford, the very teen Waverly believes to be her long-lost daughter, has plans of her own. She sets off for a secret rendezvous with Jordan Danforth, her telepathic friend from across the border. Enroute, the two unexpectedly get caught up in Waverly's programming. Their actions spark a chain reaction no one could have predicted, and now no one can control... not even Waverly.

A band of Adray-resistant citizens may be the teens' only hope, but can they overcome the public's cognitive dissonance before it's too late?
