The Watermelon

Newly divorced, alone, 30-something, Achilles Pumpkinseed spends his days smoking pot and watching TV. One day, an unexpected visitor named Homer shows up at his doorstep with an old dilapidated camping trailer painted like a watermelon. Homer insists that Achilles has inherited this bizarre object and it is his "mission" to get Achilles to accept it. Achilles accepts the strange looking, seemingly useless trailer and parks it in front of his home. The "Watermelon" acts like a magnet, as it lures all types of weird people to Achilles' home, including the ghost of his beloved mother. At first, Achilles rejects the intruders who want to rent or buy his trailer. Then one day he discovers a young runaway sleeping in the trailer. Rather than chase her off, he invites the vulnerable Persephone into his home and, eventually, into his life. Strange appearances from his ex-wife and deranged stepsister show up to ensure that Achilles' life will never be the same.
